Every July, the National Trust here in Jersey, as a fun, charitable event, run their 30 Bays in 30 days Challenge. An idea borrowed from our sister island Guernsey.
This years starting point was the lovely bay of Greve De Lecq. People gathered their t-shirts, donned their swim caps and raced into the chilly sea (temp 16.9) to begin a month long adventure of swimming in the waters that grace Jersey's shoreline. The challenge is to complete a swim in all thirty bays before the month is out.
The challenge is open to people of all ages who want to get outdoors and take advantage of our stunning beaches, while raising money for two local charities – Jersey Hospice Care and the National Trust for Jersey.
