Sir John McColl -

Jersey has unique links with the UK. One that is not so widely known is the role of Governor on the Island. I was lucky enough to meet him the other day.
General Sir John Chalmers McColl KCB, CBE, DSO (b. 17 April 1952) is the current Lieutenant Governor of Jersey. He was sworn in on 26 September 2011. He was formerly Deputy Supreme Allied Commander Europe.

Below is a brief description of some of the decorations he has been awarded.

Here he is wearing his General's frock coat and a chest full of medals.

I was lucky to be served fresh brewed coffee and some excellent home made biscuits.

The white enameled cross is the Knight Commander of the Bath.

Knight Commander of the Bath and two buttons.

Top medal down the DSO. General Service Medal for a tour of duty in Ireland. Followed by a UN Medal, Mentioned in Dispatches. Fourth down is a NATO Medal

The blue cross is his CBE

The Generals button depicts a baton crossed with a sword.
